Sometimes we just need to take a deep breath. Relax. And enjoy the small things in life. Like a fresh cup of coffee. The calmness and fresh air after a thunderstorm. Newly washed bed sheets (and aren’t they the greatest?!) We live in a society that is constantly changing. Life passes us by at such a fast pace we don’t have time to fully enjoy its beauty.
With technology comes great opportunities, for example we get to share and communicate our thoughts and dreams with people all over the world. But technology has also taken over our minds. We are so dependent on mobile phones, social media, computers that we forget to communicate with the people in front of us. Imagine how many human beings we neglect or chances passing us by while we are busy fiddling with our mobile phones, at the bus stop, on the bus, in the grocery store, when walking down the street.
”You’re the director in the story of your life;
be creative, wild, follow your dreams,
appreciate yourself, be open for love
and don’t forget to enjoy the small things in life.”
Life is beautiful. Stop for a moment and embrace all that it’s giving you – the opportunities, strenght, love, friendship, happiness, setbacks and dreams coming true. If something truly great happens in your life – take your time to fully embrace it, be proud of yourself and your accomplishments. When facing a tough situation- embrace it to, learn from the experience and allow yourself to feel sad. Don’t hide your feelings. You’re allowed to express both positive and negative feelings without anyone judging you.
Let’s refuse a hectic lifestyle and slow down to enjoy life, to be present in the moment and to fully focus on the person in front of us.
Don’t get me wrong. Life should be a bit hectic, overwhelming. With a healthy dose of stress included. We just need to focus on the here and now. Past is past, things we cannot change. And for the future we can simply plan, set goals and dream. But for some reasons things doesn’t always turn out the way planned.
I like to think that everything happens for a reason. With every setback we gain strenght, experience and knowledge about ourselves. Dare to dream BIG. You’re the director in the story of your life; be creative, wild, follow your dreams, appreciate yourself, be open for love and don’t forget to enjoy the small things in life. Small things that might turn out to become great things.
