Take away

Clean and green healthy take away. When I’m home alone and too lazy to cook I usually stop by Dr Salad in Stockholm and pick up a fresh, green salad. Today I chose a vegan caesar salad and some smoked salmon. The salad was absolutely amazing. Really, really nice. A carrot, ginger, apple juice on the side and my tummy was happy. I need to buy myself a juicer. I love my smoothies, but it would be pretty nice to be able to make refreshing juices at home. At least it’s less expensive than buying from the store. Now I’m going to pour myself another glass of juice and read for a while, and stretch out my legs that are completely sore after todays workout. Two thumbs up for Kayla Itsines workouts. Have a lovely evening! /Linda Annonser

Superlicious Smoothie

Another cleansing and delicious smoothie, and it’s not even green. Despite all the spinach, wheatgrass and chlorella it looks more like a creamy nut smoothie. Don’t be fooled by the colour though. I feel I need all the vitamins I can get so this one soothed my cravings. It tasted awfully nice, with the carrot juice, turmeric, ginger and a bunch of other stuff! Very rich in flavour, which I like. So next time you feel slightly under the weather try to dust off your blender and make yourself a Supercilious Smoothie. I bet it works wonders for both your mind and body. Ingredients: Half a banana A handful of frozen raspberries A handful of spinach 1 tsp wheatgrass 1 tsp chlorella 1 tbs hemp seeds Freshly grated ginger A hint of turmeric 150 g plain greek yoghurt/soy yoghurt 1.5 dl raw pressed juice (I used one with carrot, apple and orange which I bought from the store) If you have a juicer at home you can easily make your own juices. Instructions: 1. Place …

Greenlicious Smoothie

A cleansing, fresh green smoothie made this rainy Sunday complete. It’s always handy to have banana cut into pieces in your freezer, it makes it easier to make delicious smoothies or vegan friendly ice cream. This smoothie was quite filling so it became my lunch/post workout smoothie. Delicious indeed I must say. I reckon it would be excellent for anyone suffering from a cold, as the recipe contains plenty of good ingredients. In addition a perfect breakfast option. Ingredients: 1 frozen banana 1 dl fresh mango 1 tsp wheatgrass 1 tsp chlorella 1 tbs hemp seeds A handful of spinach Freshly grated ginger A hint of turmeric Freshly squeezed lemon juice 1 dl water/coconut water 1 dl almond milk Instructions: 1. Cut the banana into pieces. Place in the freezer until frozen. 2. Cut 1/4 mango into pieces. 3. Place all ingredients in your blender and mix on full speed until smooth. 4. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and serve with your favourites.

White Flower

A gift from my love. Yesterday wasn’t really my day. But it all changed when I came home and found out my boyfriend bought these cute little vases for me. He’s the best! The day might not have started as I hoped for, but it sure ended pretty nice with Birdman and a splendid dinner at a Cuban restaurant. It’s important to appreciate the small things in life, like a good movie, the perfect cup of coffee, seeing your loved ones smile and a beautiful white flower. You cannot feel on top every day, but that’s the beauty of life; the ups and downs. To start living in the present and embrace the here and now is of utmost importance, and something that is easily forgotten in this hectic world of ours. Today has been relaxing; I made a huge breakfast, went for a run outside and did some ab exercises. My better half went to work so I think I’m going to spend the rest of the day reading and sipping coffee. I might …

Granola Bars

Granola bars are one of my favourite healthy treats and a perfect snack after working out. The ones you find in the supermarket are usually filled with sugars and other nasty stuff. Baking your own bars are definitely worth a try! It’s easy peasy lemon squeezy and you know exactly what’s in them. These turned out really delicious. Of course you can leave out the dark chocolate if you prefer your bars to be vegan friendly. I sense they’ll be perfect for the weekend. On second thought… It’s Thursday today so I’m not sure there will be any left by Saturday. Ingredients: (makes approx. 12 bars) 7 dl gluten free oat & seed mix (I used oats, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, coconut flakes) 1 banana 0.5 dl melted coconut oil 2 tbs agave syrup 0.5 dl water + 2 tbs chia seeds 1/2 tsp vanilla powder 1 tsp cinnamon 0.5 dl dried cranberries 50 g melted dark chocolate Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees celcius. 2. Mix the chia seeds with water. Put a side …

Have a lovely Tuesday! /Linda

Some thoughts after the juice cleanse

I must say I feel extremely well one day after cleansing. The whole day I’ve had such an enormous energy. I’ve been feeling light and my stomach is really happy. Hopefully it will stay like this for a while. Such a nice feeling! Do anyone of you have any experience from cleansing? It would be nice to hear other people’s thoughts! I’ve been eating rather light today – smoothies and a vegan inspired dinner. But so nice to have ”proper” solid food. I guess my body needs that. Too bad my back is still hurting. Not as much as yesterday but still it doesn’t feel alright. If feels better when I’m walking though, so pleased to have had the opportunity to spend most of the day outside. The Spring has definitely arrived to Stockholm. I’m so grateful. And yes, I had a coffee today! My cravings might not be over, but hey a coffee a day keeps the doctor away. Or how does it go 😉 And speaking about cravings, I might have a new …

Smoothie parfait

OMG. Seriously!? This was the best smoothie I have ever had. Creamy, sweet and with so much flavour. Absolutely amazing. The Mango Maca Smoothie with its sweet caramel taste. The Raspberry Wheatgrass Smoothie with its taste of sour, and last but not least the Vanilla Chia Pudding. It’s really something extra. Better than candy. Better than coffee. Better than.. Everything else. I promise. Happy mixing! Three layers smoothie parfait Layer 1 – Mango Maca Smoothie: Ingredients: 1 small banana 1 dl frozen mango pieces 1 tbs maca powder 1- 1.5 dl almond milk 2 tsp peanutbutter 1/2 tsp cinnamon Instructions: 1. Place all ingredients in a blender and mix on full speed. Use less almond milk for a thicker smoothie. Layer 2 – Raspberry Wheatgrass Smoothie: Ingredients: 1 small banana 1 dl frozen raspberries A hint of vanilla powder 1-2 tsp wheatgrass 1-1.5 dl almond milk Instructions: 1. Place all ingredients in the blender and mix, mix! You choose how much almond milk you use, use less fore a thicker smoothie. Layer 3 – Vanilla …

Juice Cleansing

I decided to try a three day juice cleanse, which means drinking five cold pressed and organic veggie/fruit juices per day plus one nut milk. That’s 18 juices altogether. Only liquids, no solid food. And no coffee. Since it was my first cleanse ever I didn’t really know what to expect. Two days before the cleanse I started to eat mostly vegetarian food and fresh raw food salads. I didn’t stop drinking coffee though, but I drank plenty of water and avoided sugar. The main reason I wanted to do a cleanse was out of curiosity. I have read so much about it and wanted to find out for myself if it’s actually as good as people say. Cleansing Day 1 On Thursday, cleansing day 1, I woke up at 6:45 AM. I had my first juice at 7 AM, an pineapple mynth juice. Really refreshing and tasty. I felt like having something warm so I drank a cup of warm lemon water as well. I felt energized so I decided to take a brisk …
