Morning routines

I love mornings. Especially those mornings when I’m not in a hurry. I wish I would be one of those who likes to workout early in the morning. During weekends it’s fine, when I don’t have to wake up at 6 am, but during weekdays I don’t find the motivation to go to the gym before work. At least I have a 30 minutes walk to work, that’s really convenient. I’ll have to see if I feel more motivated towards spring when it’s getting lighter outside. Until then the weekend mornings are my favourites! How my dream morning looks like (only happens during weekends 😉 ) Wake up at 8 am. Drink some water & coffee (should change the coffee to golden milk instead. Some day, some day…) 45-60 minutes powerwalk OR yoga. BREAKFAST ❤ (and more coffee..) preferably in bed while reading some magazines or books. Take my vitamins – Vitamin D, MSM, vitamin B, and Chlorella. If I don’t have anything else planned I usually go to the gym around 11-12 o’clock.   Annonser

Green Smoothie

This is a lovely, creamy Green Mango Kale Smoothie packed with vitamins. Thanks to the banana and mango the taste is pretty sweet. You can use kiwi fruit instead of mango and for an extra immune booster why not add a teaspoon of wheat grass or chlorella powder. This glass of pure, green deliciousness kick-starts my day! Green Mango Kale Smoothie Ingredients: 1 banana or half an avocado 1 dl frozen mango pieces A handful baby spinach and kale 2 tsp almond butter 2 tsp MCT-oil 2 dl natural soy yoghurt A hint of almond-, coconut- or rice milk (The amount? Depends on how creamy you like it…) Instructions: Place the ingredients in a blender and mix on high speed for a couple of minutes. Pour the smoothie into two small glasses and add some hemp and melon seeds.

For the love of porridge

At the moment I love starting my day with a big bowl of porridge. I prefer gluten free oat porridge but try to vary and spice it up with either buckwheat or amaranth. My weakness is for sure oat porridge cooked in coconut milk, real yummy! Not to mention porridge flavoured with vanilla and cardamom. The best thing about porridge is that you can top it with almost anything – fresh berries, blueberry chia jam, apple sauce, different seeds and nuts such as pumpkin seeds, melon seeds, hemp seeds, pine nuts, almond milk, soy yoghurt… The list goes on. In Sweden we are really spoiled at the moment with this beautiful Winter weather. It’s very convenient to warm up with a nice, creamy bowl of porridge. Oh, and I wrote in the beginning that I love starting my day with a bowl of porridge. I normally also love ending my day the same way 😉 The pictures below represents the perfect bowl of oats cooked in coconut milk with a pinch of sea salt and …

Stay active

In order to maintain a healthy lifestyle it’s important that you try to stay active and workout regularly. Try to exercise at least three times a week for a at least 30 minutes. And that means 30 sweaty minutes 😉 But the most important is that you stay active every day. And by active I mean going for a brisk 30 minutes walk, cleaning the apartment/house, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, doing some light yoga/stretching, playing with your kids, dancing to your favourite song, taking the bicycle instead of the car, those kind of things. It’s easy to forget about the time when you’re in front of the computer, minutes become hours and all of a sudden you’ve been sitting in the same position for way too many hours. Making you feel tense and stiff. Try to take short breaks every now and then; drink some water, stretch your shoulders etcetera. I’m one of those lucky persons that only has a 30 minutes walk to work. It’s a great way to start the …

skin products

It’s not always easy to maintain a healthy glowing skin, especially during these cold Winter months. I myself usually suffer from very dry skin during this period. By drinking loads of water, getting enough sleep and fresh air, eating veggies and cutting down on milk products and white sugars I noticed my skin both looks and feels healthier. Adding these foods to your plate also gives the skin an extra boost of health: walnuts, kale, green tea, pumpkin, carrots, sunflower seeds, mackerel, chickpeas, tomatoes, pomegranate, oatmeal… In addition, for the last 4 months I’ve been using REN skin products and I must say I really love their products. Their Omega 3 Optimum Skin Oil is a lifesaver and helps my skin to stay smooth and soft. It’s a must before heading outside in the cold. Once a week I also use their Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask. Another lifesaver 😉 REN uses only 100 % plant and mineral derived actives and is free from skin unfriendly synthetic ingredients. REN is against animal testing and their products …

Quick lunch

This is a quicky for those busy days. It’s delicious and takes only a few minutes to prepare. Suitable also as a side dish. Bon appétit! Halloumi salad Ingredients: (1 person) Halloumi Baby spinach Pine nuts Avocado Lemon juice & Balsamico Instructions: Toast the nuts in a dry frying pan. Cut half a halloumi into four to five pieces and fry in coconut oil until light brown. Place baby spinach, avocado, pine nuts and halloumi on a plate. Sprinkle some lemon juice and balsamico on the salad.

Dark Chocolate Brownie

Yesterday I made this divine dark chocolate brownie. One of my biggest inspirations at the moment is Swedish blogger and influencer Ida Warg. I found this wonderful recipe on her blog – Gluten free Vegan Brownie. This dark chocolate brownie is almost the same, but it’s not vegan and I used walnuts instead of pecans. Mostly because I didn’t have pecans at home. I think I would prefer pecans. Maybe next time 😉 It has a rich chocolate flavour and if you like dark chocolate you gonna love this one! The perfect cake for the perfect weekend. I had one piece after I had my oat & coconut porridge this morning, which means I have energy like a whole football team. Time for  a power walk, I guess. Sun is shining, there is plenty of snow and it’s pretty cold. Lovely! Ingredients: (approximately 16-18 pieces) 200 g dark chocolate (I used Lindt dark chocolate minimum 70 %) 5 tbsp coconut oil 2.5 dl almond milk 3 dl gluten free oat flour / rice flour 1 …

Top 5 Superfoods

I prefer to add different (super)foods to my diet and at the moment I fancy a couple of products a bit extra. They give me well needed energy throughout the day, and last but not least they taste great! Acai. This awesome dark purple and antioxidant-rich berry grows in South America and is commonly found in the rainforests of the Amazon. Acai contains Vitamin C and B, minerals, omega fatty acids, among other things. Eat acai and you will get a natural energy boost.  Raw cacao nibs. For my sweet tooth. I usually sprinkle these sweethearts on my smoothie or mix it with my home made granola. Divine!  Coconut oil. I always use coconut oil when cooking. It’s for sure my favourite, and I can’t live without it. A new favourite is one with cinnamon flavour. Absolutely delicious and it tastes so good in my morning coffee ❤ Chlorella. I use this fresh water algae to boost my immune system, reducing the chances of infection. It gives me energy and plenty of essential amino acids, essential fatty acids, Vitamin …
