Accept what is

‘Just breathe and accept what is. The sun will rise tomorrow.’   In the The Power of Now Eckhart Tolle writes; ”Accept – then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it. Make it your friend and ally, not your enemy. This will miraculously transform your whole life.” (p. 35)  I found this to be very important, yet rather challenging. When you’re always busy living your life – striving to improve and solely having the eyes on your end goals – you’re not fully enjoying life. You’ll most probably miss out on a great deal of wonderful things happening around you when you’re never here, but always there. Life happens now. You see, life happens now. In this moment my life is happening here, in front of the computer, writing down words that hopefully will inspire at least one human. The coffee is cold, but I don’t mind, it was hot a minute ago. The rain smashing against the window. My foot …

Green Super Smoothie

‘Happiness is sipping a green smoothie.’   This green goddess smoothie will provide you with pure healthy energy, and make you glow from the inside out. It’s filled with all the good stuff; spinach, kale, broccoli, mango, banana and almond butter. A bunch of greens, because the body likes that. Every cell of the body likes those nutrients.  Nowadays when I have a smoothie they are usually green and filled with veggies & banana or mango. They keep me fuller for longer, and are perfect for both breakfast or as a post-workout snack or as a lighter lunch. It’s easy to ”hide” the veggies in a smoothie. If your kids or you have difficulties getting those daily portions of veggies blend them into the smoothie. And all kiddies and youngsters should know that when drinking a green smoothie they will become Superman/Superwoman.   Green Goddess Smoothie Ingredients: A handful of frozen broccoli A handful of spinach & kale 1 frozen banana A handful of frozen mango 1 tbsp almond butter Lemon juice from one lemon …

Her life is a poem waiting to be born

‘My words, merely a fraction of my brain and the entire universe haunted by my feelings.’     ”become addicted to her smile and fall in love with her presence”     ”the moment arises when you become to cherish sadness chaos all your desires every color of your soul for then and only then life becomes authentic”       ”you live for the fame success other people’s approval longing to take the world by storm still a simple question remains have you taken yourself by storm?”       ”she has been quiet for too long her soul demands to come out and play make life a poem speak the truth loves everyone so deep they drown in her kindness every night she falls a sleep with the intention of making life a happier and a more fearless place”       ”her life is the poem she has not yet written”   Photos: Pinterest

What inspires me to live a healthy lifestyle?

‘A healthy lifestyle not only changes your body, it changes your mind, your attitude and your mood.’   What inspires me to live a healthy lifestyle? My first respons is life. The idea is to die young as late as possible. I want to be like my dad. He turned 78 this fall, and he’s in better shape than most 50-year-olds. ‘It’s the turmeric, Linda’  he said today. Turmeric might well be one of the reasons. It might also help that he’s active, usually eats healthy (meaning he enjoys his cinnamon buns from time to time) and he and mum have a rich social life. Enough of my dad. Besides life I’ve another reason why I always prioritize health. Positivity & Joy Being healthy helps me stay positive. Health is much more than what you’re eating and drinking. Health is also about what you’re thinking and saying. The older I get I’ve become to realise that a healthy mind is as important as a healthy body (if not even more!) The past year I’ve been prioritising mindfulness, yoga …

What inspires me?

‘If you let go of self-doubt, follow your heart and make time for the things you truly enjoy life becomes much more rewarding. Even in the midst of all chaos.’   Inspiration is like a snowflake; peacefully falling down from the sky ready to settle down on earth, but as soon as it touches the ground it melts away. I love to seek inspiration in the littlest of things. Knowing that once it’s found it has to be grabbed, nurtured. Because if not, it will evaporate like the tiniest snowflake.   Humans My number 1 inspiration. Humans are astonishing creatures. I’m inspired by kindhearted people that help each other for no reason. People that dare to dream big, that follow their heart and that aren’t afraid of failure. People that are passionate about what they are doing and don’t care about getting other people’s approval. Nature Whenever I feel unmotivated I go outside. Nature has a lot of beauty to offer. You can find inspiration just by listening to the sound of the waves crashing …

My 5 favorite books at the moment

‘A relaxed mind is a creative mind.’   This November (what’s left of it) and December you’ll most likely find me sitting on my sofa wrapped in three blankets with a book and a cup of tea. I’ve developed a newfound love for reading (*NERD*). And what better way to spend a cold winter’s evening than with a good book, while snow flakes dancing outside the window. All of these books are quite different to those I’ve read before, but I think it’s important to be open-minded and to explore new fields. At least then you’ll learn something new.   How Not To Die by Michael Greger This is a very comprehensive book about the foods that scientifically have been proven to prevent and reverse disease. Chapter by chapter Michael Greger explains each of the most common diseases such as heart disease, breast cancer, prostate cancer, high blood pressure and diabetes, and how we can prevent and reverse them by making the right dietary choices. Besides all the science-based information there are also concrete steps you …

Re-nourish your morning routines

‘Every action you choose to take will either pull you one step back or take you two steps closer to your dreams. However, you decide.’   I love mornings. The best hours during the day, without a doubt. Nevertheless I’ve set some new goals for myself. Challenges to incorporate into my morning routine. These are small goals that everyone can do, and that are somewhat easy to achieve. I want them to become part of my everyday life, and in order to do so I need to stay consistent. I’m a firm believer in setting small ordinary goals that are both realistic and easy to accomplish. I will try to follow these for the next 30 days. 1. Wake up at 6 am.  I really wish to to get into this early morning routine again. Preferably I would like to get up at 5.30 am, but for now on 6 am is just fine. I will strive to do this whenever it’s possible, meaning if I work until late in the evening I most likely will …

Everyday Habits to Change Your Life

‘Consistency is more important than perfection.’   Here is a list of small habits that will make your days more enjoyable, productive and mindful. Keep in mind that it takes approximately 21 days to form a new habit, therefore be consistent. Performing habits like these might not seem like a big deal, but it is usually the tiniest habits and routines that at the end of the day will have an huge impact. Like choosing a positive thought over a negative one, practising gratitude and drinking enough water.   Wake up one hour earlier. If you’re not already waking up super early try to set your alarm one hour earlier than usual. Dedicate this extra time to yourself; enjoy your coffee, read something educational, practise yoga or take a morning walk. Getting ready for the day ahead in a calm and relaxed manner is a crucial  step towards a more productive day. At least it will help you feel more in control, since having more time will make your morning less stressful, which in turn, …

Day Trip & Own Creation

‘psithurism  (noun) = the sound of the wind through trees.’   It was a cold and crisp November’s day when I got the most spontaneous idea to go to Sigtuna, a small and cosy town approx. 2 hours from Stockholm. Or actually, the idea came during my morning meditation. I had this voice inside my head; ‘You have to go to the cosy little town outside Stockholm that your friend keeps talking about all the time.’ I did not remember the name of this cosy, little town though. But thank you Google. I was very pleased because my friend Emelie had a day off and was happy to join. We strolled around, trying to keep ourselves warm, had lunch at the main hotel in town and enjoyed a beautiful sunset by the water. Nature and stillness – and the brain is intact again.   I received my book in the mailbox today! I have to proof read it first, and then I might order some more copies so I can give to friends and family. …

Pre Beauty Sleep

‘Logic will take you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.’ – Albert Einstein Evening routine 1. Write   Sometimes I like to practise writing without having any structure, just letting the mind say what it has to say. I like the thought of not thinking too much about anything. But usually, in the evenings, my mind wish to be a complete mess of thoughts, and I allow it. Letting the mind completely unwind and relax is very important. You need that. Your brain needs that. I try to focus on not focusing too much. Something like that. Doesn’t always turn out the way I want it. I have become to realise that I sleep much better, more beautifully, if I write down my mind’s stories before bedtime. Like when you were a child and your parents read good-night-stories (hoping that you would fall a sleep before the news). However, now we are old enough to create our own stories. Although, we were actually around 4 when we started creating all kind of …
